We know your wedding is an important day and you have been planning this day for a long time. The COVID-19 pandemic has most likely made everything much more complicated. We want you to have a beautiful , meaningful wedding and to be able to share that moment with your family and friends. However, we also recognize that this is a global emergency and that we cannot conduct business as usual. We’re trying to find a balance to ensure that everyone is safe while ensuring we give you the best of our artistic skills and deliver your vision. With that in mind, we’re implementing the following changes to our general policies and procedures. We’ll also be working with our couples and clients individually as the situation continues to evolve.
We want you to have a great wedding day no matter what, and that’s why we’re bringing these things up now. We want to smile, laugh, and enjoy your day with you, and by addressing these things ahead of time, when we arrive at your wedding we can all focus on the task at hand: getting you married! :)
What we’re doing:
We’re monitoring the situation closely and will be adapting our response as needed and in accordance with federal and provincial regulations and requirements.
Our Approach To Physical Distancing & Work Stations
- As our services are performed primarily on location, we will be consulting with our clients in advance about the area they have set aside for us to perform services.
- Factors to consider when planning for on location beauty services are:
- Adequate space: we will be requiring a minimum 6 feet of social distancing space around our work area. Ideally, if you have a separate room where there will be no one walking through. We understand that in some hotel rooms or Air BNB spaces, this may not be an option - dedicating a portion of the room and clearing out any unnecessary furniture will likely be sufficient in this case.
- Proper ventilation and lighting: if we are able to set up somewhere near a window or a patio door, providing sufficient light and airflow, that would be ideal!
- On beautiful summer days where a covered patio (with a power plug in or an extension cord) is an option for services, we will gladly take advantage of the open air space.
- When multiple providers are working on multiple clients at once, this will increase the space required for set up. Our team will not be able to maintain social distancing while providing beauty services - our protocols around mitigating risk in these instances will be explained further under the PPE portion of this protocol.
- We will require access to a sink with hot water and soap for hand washing (it doesn’t need to be in the room where we are set up).
- We recognize that wedding mornings are fun and social times, we want to encourage the party to continue on while keeping safety in mind. During scheduled appointment times, only the provider and the client receiving services will be within the station area. We ask that friends, family and other vendors maintain a 6 foot social distancing space around the provider, the set up and those having services at any given time.
- If services are able to take place in a separate room, we ask that anyone other than the client having services remain outside of the room until their designated appointment time.
- As much as we love handshakes and hugs, our providers will not initiate physical contact.
- with any client. But know that we are smiling under our masks!
What we ask of you
Please help us keep our community safe. We understand that this is a challenging time to plan a wedding or elopement, and we’re doing our best to keep you and all our other couples safe and supported. We’re asking you to do everything you can to make sure we’re safe at your wedding, and we’re trusting you to make that happen. In order to protect us and everyone around us, we ask that you:
- Ensure that you, your partner, your witnesses, and anyone else who may be in attendance at your wedding does not have any symptoms and has not been in close contact with anyone who has developed symptoms.
- Ensure that you and your guests are practicing safe social distancing according to current government recommendations leading up to, during, and after the wedding.
- Limit the number of people at your gathering to a maximum of 50 people, including vendors.
- Ensure that none of the people present at your wedding have recently travelled and/or should be self-isolating or quarantining.
Hygiene & Cleaning Protocols
- Sanitization and hygiene while providing beauty services are practices deep routed in our teams work flow. We have and will continue to take sanitary practices with the upmost seriousness.
- Providers will maintain their kit with appropriate sanitary practices, utilizing disposable tools whenever possible, sanitizing all applicable tools with appropriate cleaning solutions and 70% alcohol.
- Providers will wipe down their work station, chair and high touch items with disinfectant wipes prior and in between each service.
- Products such as lip or eyeliner pencils will be soaked in 70% alcohol, sharpened, soaked again in 70% alcohol and dried before use. Clients are welcome to request these types of products not be used during their application if it makes them feel more comfortable.
- Clients will be required to wash their hands before sitting down for a service and bring only items that are absolutely necessary. We will provide a sanitizing wipe for clients to use on the items they bring to the chair with them, such as their phone. We ask that you do not eat during your appointment, but you are welcome to bring a beverage.
- Clients will be requested to remain in the chair for the duration of their appointment whenever possible, as the addition of our new protocols means we must be intentional with our appointment time.
- Providers will wash their hands with soap and water upon arrival at the location and in between clients, in additional to utilizing hand sanitizer through each appointment.
Required Personal Protective Equipment
Hair Services:
- Whenever possible, both the client and provider will be required to wear a mask during hair service.
- If the client has a mask of their own, we ask they bring it with them, but we will have disposable masks available for clients to wear if necessary.
Makeup Services:
- Providers will be equipped with gloves and may choose to wear them during services. If a client feels more comfortable with an artist wearing gloves, please don’t hesitate to request it.
Informed Consent For Clients:
- Informed consent about the risk of COVID-19 transmission is required before service can begin. Personal services, specifically makeup service, involves some risk of COVID-19 transmission. Our providers will follow a protocol to reduce or mitigate risk, but that risk cannot be reduced to zero.
- For the safety of all providers and clients, we require that each client fill out and sign the COVID-19 Client Intake Waiver before each service.
- Clients should be aware that COVID-19 precautions may necessitate increased time for consultation, assessment, informed consent and sanitary processes, and therefore we may require additional time built into your service timeline to allow for this. The timeline for each booking will be assessed on an individual basis.
- This Covid-19 Safety Plan was developed in accordance with the guidelines set out by Worksafe BC, the Provincial Health Office and in consultation with a health care provider.
